Miles for Music 5K

The Daleville Band Parents Association is hosting a 5K run through the City of Daleville on Saturday, March 21st, 2026. The Miles 4 Music 5K is unique because it will give you the chance to run with the rhythm of live music provided along the route by members of the Daleville "Pride of the South" Marching Band. This year's music theme is Music Moves You Forward and features a soundtrack that will uplift your runner's heart with sound for the soul.

Location: Daleville High School. 626 N Daleville Ave, Daleville, AL 36322. The race starts less than a mile outside of the Ft. Rucker Daleville gate.

Registration is available on site for $30. DHS student registration is $10.  No refunds will be given. 

Packet pickup starts at 6:45 am CDT the day of the race and ends at 7:30 am CDT.

Map: CLICK HERE The race will begin at 8 am CDT. The route runs 3.1 miles with a 122 ft ascent and a 124 ft descent. The route begins and ends at the entrance to Daleville High School. The course is paved and uses the roadway. Turns are marked with live music and arrows. The course closes at 10 am CDT. We give participants the chance to run or walk. Strollers are allowed at the participants own risk. Start time can be delayed by the hosting organization due to weather. Any changes to the race starting time will be sent via the registration platform and will be communicated on this page. 

Bathrooms are located at the beginning and end of the race route inside the Daleville High School building. After race refreshments will be provided. 

Awards: Awards for overall male and female and male and female master. Additional awards are three deep in ten year age groups. Awards will only be given to runners. 

An awards ceremony will start as soon as possible. Estimated time is 9:45 am. 

Thanks to Weevil Run, the overall female and overall male will each receive a $160 gift certificate for a free pair of shoes.

All age category winners (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) will receive a Slice the Price Dominos Pizza Card that entitles them to a second pizza free on every Dominos pizza purchase for the calendar year.

Beneficiary: All proceeds go to the Daleville Band Program to support music education in the Daleville City School System. Currently, the band is fundraising to purchase $52,000 in new band uniforms for the Pride of the South at a cost of $450 a person. The new uniforms will replace the current set of 15 year old uniforms purchased in 2010. Participants interested in donating to support the purchase of new uniforms can CLICK HERE. 

Band Directors Challenge: Danny Wiggins Band Instrument Repair is sponsoring the Band Directors Challenge this year. The first band director through the finish line will win $100 and bragging rights for the year.
